Poisoned Water in GreenVilleDr. Pollution was upset, as always about GoGreen Man and Professor Fusionstein. Over and over again they defeated him in everything he tried, and he was tired of it. It was time he did something very dramatic, regardless of who got hurt. He didn’t care what he did to get rid of them.
He thought, “Let me see. What can I do to make GoGreen Man and Professor Fusionstein worried? Just doing something to them isn’t working. I have to do something that will affect everyone! HAHAHAHA!” Dr. Pollution was getting worked up thinking about the different things he could do, when he had an idea. “Everyone has to drink water. Without water, no one can survive for long. I am going to pollute the water supply in GreenVille!”
You see, GreenVille’s water supply was very clean. It came down from the mountains into GreenVille’s water reservoir so clean that nothing really needed to be done to it. Anyone could go and drink it without fear of getting sick.
Although the water was fresh and pure, it was still guarded since water was a precious natural resource. That didn’t bother Dr. Pollution at all because he knew there were many ways he could contaminate (put bad things in) the water. All he needed was patience.
He thought the best way to pollute the water was to have Gas Goon go into the rain clouds. Before Gas Goon went in the clouds he would be mixed with a special chemical, one Dr. Pollution had created, that would pollute the rain. When the clouds released the rain drops, they would be a mixture of water and chemicals. These chemicals would make people thirsty when they drank the water. So the more they drank, the thirstier they became. Plus, it would give them diarrhea and stomach aches.
“After GreenVille gets sick and desperate, only then will I give them good water.” Dr. Pollution chuckled to himself at the thought of GreenVille begging for water.
The fresh water would only be given to the people who agreed to banish GoGreen Man from GreenVille. They would have to sign a petition saying they wanted him gone. Dr. Pollution thought it was perfect, GoGreen Man kicked out of GreenVille by the very citizens he was protecting. He couldn’t stop laughing thinking about it.
As always, Dr. Pollution just knew this plan was his best one yet. He was getting tired of GoGreen Man ruining his plans and the only way they would ever work would be to have him out of GreenVille forever. Now he needed to store some fresh water to reward those in GreenVille who wanted to get of GoGreen Man. In order to get enough fresh water ready, he knew just the person to help him - Petrol Pirate, because he had factories.
When Dr. Pollution summoned him to Doomsville, Petrol Pirate wasn’t happy to be going there. Mainly, because he didn’t know what Dr. Pollution wanted from him.
“I’m busy, I can’t come right now,” Petrol Pirate grumpily told him. Dr. Pollution told him he had a good idea that would get rid of GoGreen Man and make Petrol Pirate a lot of money. Petrol Pirate reluctantly agreed to listen.
Then Dr. Pollution started talking about his plan. “I have an idea. You have to make a lot of bottles to put water in and store them somewhere safe. Don’t tell anyone what you’re doing and one day soon, you’ll be able to sell them for a lot of money.”
Petrol Pirate scoffed at him, “No way! Water is free in GreenVille and it’s everywhere! People can just go to rivers, streams or just about anywhere and get fresh water. Sorry, Dr. Pollution, I’m not listening to you this time. I lost a lot of money because of you making the air conditioners.”
Dr. Pollution snorted, “Petrol Pirate, just be quiet and listen to my whole plan. I am going to poison the water in GreenVille.”
Petrol Pirate refused to believe it. “How can you possibly poison all the water in GreenVIlle? I don’t believe you, it is not possible. This is a silly idea.”
That really upset Dr. Pollution. He knew he couldn’t do it without Petrol Pirate’s help, so he explained even more. “Pretty soon it’s going to be the rainy season in GreenVille. All the rain that comes down will be mixed with the chemical I made which will make people very thirsty. Since its rain, it will go all over GreenVille and get in all the water – lakes, rivers, ponds and creeks. The more tainted water they drink, the thirstier they become.”
Petrol Pirate still wasn’t completely convinced, so he asked, “But won’t Professor Fusionstein just find a way to neutralize it? Make it drinkable, again?”
“NO!” retorted Dr. Pollution, “I am a better chemist than him and besides it would take him a very long time to figure out how to clean ALL the water in GreenVille.”
With that explanation, Petrol Pirate was convinced it would work, so he went out straightaway and started collecting water to put into bottles. He was excited at the idea of selling water…WATER! “Everyone has to have it, no one would think about buying it because it’s….water! Oh, this is going to be great! It’s going to be so easy making money with this project,” he chortled to himself.

Water Woman was on her daily run (on the water) when she saw Petrol Pirate laughing by himself in the river. Curious, she asked him, “Why are you getting all this water? What do you need it for?” Petrol Pirate bragged, “I’m going to sell it!” Water Woman laughed and reminded him, “GreenVille is full of water. People don’t need to buy it from you! I’m sorry, but I think you are just wasting your time.” As she went off to finish her run, she had a funny feeling about Petrol Pirate.

Since GoGreen Man was given knighthood from the king, it was his responsibility to go check on him to make sure he was okay. When King Nature saw him, he asked, “How is GreenVille?” GoGreen Man was glad to report that everything was fine. “I haven’t seen much activity around Doomsville, but I’m keeping an eye on it.”
King Nature wanted to arrest Dr. Pollution for his crimes against the crown, but GoGreen Man disagreed. “Professor Fusionstein is a little concerned that if we try to capture Dr. Pollution, he might do something dangerous like blow up Doomsville!”
King Nature reminded GoGreen Man about the protective shield over Doomsville, but GoGreen Man told him that a large enough explosion would break the shield and send radiation to GreenVille. While GoGreen Man couldn’t go after Dr. Pollution right now, he did promise King Nature that he would one day capture Dr. Pollution and bring him to justice. The king was relieved to hear that.

Meanwhile, in GreenVille Sandra Sunburn was thinking about the upcoming rainy season. It was going to be here soon and although GreenVille was a wonderful place to live, she missed the sun when it rained. To cheer herself up she went to look at Water Woman’s water garden.
Water Woman, on the other hand, was excited about the rainy season because it meant more water in her water gardens! She was out in her yard, cleaning out the fountains when Sandra Sunburn came up.
“Hi, Sandra Sunburn! What brings you to my house today?” She cheerily called out.
“You sure are cheerful today,” replied a glum Sandra Sunburn. “The rainy season is coming and I’m going to miss the sun. I hope it doesn’t last as long this year.”
Water Woman, not wanting to make Sandra Sunburn any sadder, put aside her excitement. “I’m sorry to hear you feel that way,” she said. “Don’t worry, from my experience it’s only for a short time. The rainy season in GreenVille usually lasts just a few days. Think of it this way, if we don’t have the rainy season, our water supply would get low. It’s also nature’s way to clean the earth. Rain washes away stagnant water and replaces it with clean water. Plus, the plants need the rain to grow.”
Sandra Sunburn sighed, “I know. It’s just that the sun makes me so happy.”
“I have a good idea!” exclaimed Water Woman. “Do you have a raincoat?” Sandra Sunburn shook her head. “Well, since you don’t, I know where you can get one. Pande Opposito probably won’t wear his raincoat when it rains - you know how he does everything opposite! If he doesn’t, you can just borrow his! In return, you can let him have some of your sunscreen.” They both laughed at that but knew it was true, so off they went to see Pande Opposito.
As expected, Pande Opposito was getting ready for the rainy season, so he had out his beach chairs and beach umbrella. He was muttering to himself because he couldn’t his sunglasses and sunscreen when Sandra Sunburn and Water Woman arrived.
They called out, “What’s the matter, Pande Opposito?”
“I’m getting ready for the rainy season but I can’t find my sunscreen. I want to get outside and soak in some sun when it starts raining,” he told them.
“That’s great!” exclaimed Sandra Sunburn. “You can have some of my sunscreen, if I can have one of your raincoats. Does that sound okay?” she asked.
Pande Opposite was happy to make the trade. What did he need his raincoat for anyway – it was going to be the rainy season soon.

Trying to get ready for the rainy season, GoGreen Man thought about possible things Dr. Pollution might do to GreenVille. One of the areas GoGreen Man was worried about was the GreenVille dam. It held most of the drinking water for GreenVille’s citizens and also generated (made) a small amount of electricity. GoGreen Man was concerned that Dr. Pollution might try to destroy the dam and release all the water when it was full from rain. That would, of course, create a huge problem.
When GoGreen Man got to the dam, he didn’t see anything out of place or unusual. It looked strong and secure, so he felt very relieved. As he turned to leave, GoGreen Man saw dark clouds building in the sky. “It will probably rain for a couple of days. This is a good start to the rainy season!” he thought to himself.

In Doomsville, Dr. Pollution was ready to start his attack. He had created enough chemicals to pollute all of GreenVille’s water. Now all he needed was rain. He sent Gas Goon through the tunnel to go outside. Once outside, Gas Goon, who had already absorbed the chemicals, went straight to the clouds, as he’d been told.
It was just as Dr. Pollution had planned. The clouds covered all of GreenVille before the rain started falling. Dr. Pollution was laughing in his lair, “HAHAHA! In a few days, all the water in GreenVille will be polluted. You will beg for water, but I won’t give it to you until you get rid of GoGreen Man! HAHAHAHA! Let’s see if GoGreen Man can save you now! Gas Goon, you keep going from cloud to cloud putting in my chemicals.” Dr. Pollution was so happy.

People in GreenVille were going about their business like they did every rainy season. They didn’t know their water supply had been polluted and that life as they knew it would be changing dramatically.....
